Day 3 of having this thing. So far we have done:

  1. Confluence for Documentation
  2. Lucid for Network Diagrams
  3. Figured out the hell a “favicon” is.
  4. Learned how to directly write images without needing to move them to Static, directly in relevant folder.
  5. Learned how to do mouseover for images along with captions, don’t need fancy functions like I thought!
  6. Followed the wonderful advise of Chris Titus for a good workflow/workspace for Hugo. VSCode for editing, 1 terminal for generating things, and a second terminal running “hugo server” so I can test my changes live without constantly pushing Git updates and rebuilding the site every time.

Granted I spent most of a sunday on this, I felt like a lot was accomplished in 1.5 days since Day 2 was a mess of a sleep schedule.

Going into this month with the goal of keeping up with the site to an extent, and expanding my confluence documentation to better suite my usage/needs compared to Google Keep. Not to discredit Google Keep because for note taking and lists, it’s a godsend.

Things I want to be comfortable with going into May:

  1. Producing content via commands (will come with time and experience I am just new)
  2. Continue to invest in Artisan Keycaps and my photography hobby so the pictures I can appear decent.
  3. Figure out a VPN solution for my lab, either self-hosted or through a 3rd party. If I DIY it’ll probably break being honest with myself considering how a TrueNAS with 8 SAS drives worked out (hint it didn’t go well)
  4. Clean this site up more as I improve my skillset.
